     If you are a postal worker in California, you know that some cities are worse than others when it comes to dog bite attacks. Being bitten by a dog is no joke for the 5,669 U.S. postal employees who suffered dog bite injuries last year, many of whom are still recovering from serious injury. Since California has become an excessively dog-loving state, many dog owners are oblivious to the dangers of owning dogs, and their propensity to hurt others. In all likelihood, this could be the reason that California contains 10 of the top 25 cities in the U.S. for dog attacks on U.S. postal workers.

     For many, the number of people injured by a dog comes as a shock, which goes to show how little the public is informed about how dangerous dogs really are. Your dog may be harmless, and an exception to these cases, but a surprisingly large number of dogs, who have never bitten a person before, attack without warning. It may surprise you that California is ranked first in the nation in fatal dog attacks, and insurers nationwide pay out over $1 billion in claims related to animal bites annually.
